About Us
We sadly live in a world of trendy, cheap and dirty “fast fashion” that relies on impulse-buying of cheaply manufactured clothing that often ends up in the trash, at the expense of the environment and the underprivileged. One would think, why not better go with the flow than rock the cart? That would be the easy way out, wouldn’t it, especially for a small sustainable fashion retailer like Sugopetite. Yes, we are small, but we are clever too. And we completely refuse to be part of the problem. It’s important to us that we make efforts to be at the forefront of the more sustainable fashion movement by making a positive impact on People and Planet – from limited-edition fabrics sourced from certified sustainable sources, reliable partnerships, all the way to production practices with an ethical manufacturer in Guatemala that cares about its workers.
And, as if that was not enough, there is another dark side that we are painfully aware - and that is the notion of Beauty coupled with the selfish body standards in our image-conscious world.
Too many women, including petites, report a low sense of self-esteem; too many have poor body image which will pressure them into looking for cosmetic surgery or try to uphold this beauty ideal with its draconic trends. We are here to recognize individuality and self-love; we are here to shout from the top of the trees about the power of shifting to a different mindset where one doesn’t need to conform to others’ expectations, but instead do what’s best for them - embrace their bodies, and celebrate their true beauty inside and out.
“There’s a big part of me that truly believes there is always hope for change. The hope that petite women around the country -and why not, around the globe – can truly love themselves the way they are, irrespective of size or shape. For too long women have endured years of abuse about their body image. That time is up now. We have an opportunity to create a ripple in the fashion industry. You don’t need others to tell you that you are acceptable, you just need to love & accept yourself. You need to believe that to be beautiful means being happy in your own skin.
So, let’s be fearless, and not just accept to be “enough”. Let’s bloom into our petite magnificence and make a big statement - I don’t need anyone’s permission to be ME!”

In the meantime, we will continue to create beautiful eco-friendly dresses for you. We know you will love the style and convenience of wearing your Sugopetite dress! Our principles of sustainability and quality will allow you to feel as good about your dress as you feel in it.
And don’t be too hard on yourself. You are beautiful the way you are. We know… change is hard, but oh so necessary… it’s up to you to embrace it. But once you are ready to take that big quantum leap back to who you truly are, you will be able to find yourself again and re-imagine a better future. And when that happens, we will still be here waiting for beautifully simply YOU.
“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.”
